Product Description

Complete Soil Improver

Complete Soil Improver keeps your soil healthy and fertile. Healthy soil improves the robustness and well-being of plants. This results in faster growth, and larger harvests. Healthier soils will often contain naturally occurring peat or humus. These components have become more and more popular for soil improvers and fertiliser products. It improves and maintains your soil’s vitality and enhance it’s ability to support plant life cycles using naturally occurring ingredients. Complete Soil reintroduces important natural organic matter and minerals back into the soil. At the same time, it improves the soil structure. These minerals and components are:

Humic and Fulvic Acids

Complete Soil Improver takes advantage of the beneficial effects of both Humic and Fulvic acid. This improves “water-infiltration” and the water holding capacity of the soil. It also aids plant root growth and speeds up plant metabolic rates. Humic acid and Fulvic acid are found in humus, but can be found in any material containing well broken down organic matter. This can include compost, and even some types of soft coal.

Amino Acids

The Amino Acids present in Complete Soil are crucial for plant growth. They are required by all living plants and animals to create the proteins necessary for cell regeneration and growth.

Volcanic Rock Dust

Rock Dust, sourced from highly fertile volcanic regions, helps re-mineralise tired soils. It also encourages a healthy micro-biome of symbiotic microbes. These are beneficial to plants as they break down organic matter within the soil. This matter turns into useful minerals and nutrients.

Gypsum

Gypsum helps flocculation of the soil. This is essentially the process by which soil particles clump together. This makes it easier to work with, and is especially effective on looser, sandier soils. It also helps break down heavy clay soils, making them easier to work with by reducing soil dispersion. Gypsum also contains Calcium which is an essential part of the “Calcium pathways” in plants. They use this to send signals to other parts of themselves, similar to humans sending signals through the nervous system. The additional Calcium reinforces these pathways so that the plant doesn’t “forget” how to perform certain tasks (e.g. reacting to a drought or a pest invasion).

Mycorrhizae

This invaluable fungi helps release nutrients locked in the soil such as Phosphorous and Nitrogen in particular. There are many types of mycorrhizae. The most common type of the fungi attaches itself to the plant root. It then creates a spider like web throughout the soil which assists greatly in nutrient and moisture retention. Additionally, in drought conditions, some types of mycorrhizae will bore down until they find water and bring the moisture back to the plant.

Zeolites

This important class of mineral is porous. It helps aerate the soil and improves nutrient and water retention, further improving the Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) of the soil. Japanese farmers use these minerals to keep their crops healthy due to the soil nutrients retained by their usage.

Seaweed Meal

Seaweed Meal significantly contributes an array of additional micro-nutrients, vitamins, alginates and other bio stimulants. All are highly beneficial to soil bacteria and plant health. In addition to this, our Complete Soil formula increases the Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) of the soil. It allows soils to hold more nutrients and minerals, thus helping plants to grow faster and stronger. This reduces the number of times you need to fertilise your soil.

Application:

We’d recommend applying Complete Soil at 100 grams per square meter, to ensure that your soil gets the proper nutrition it needs to continue thriving. We recommend applying this during the summer when micro-organisms in the soil are most active. However, it can also be applied just before planting to ensure that plants get the maximum benefit throughout summer. It is recommended to store this product in the original packaging in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place. Avoid freezing and direct sunlight.
