Pine Cone Bird Feeder

How to make a

Pine Cone Bird Feeder

What you will need:

Fir Cone / Pine Cone

Peanut butter (low sodium) or Lard

Elixir Gardens Bird Seed (Buy HERE)

Garden Twine

Spatula

(Please use low sodium peanut butter or Lard as high Sodium levels can be harmful to birds)

1. Tie the garden twine around the top scales of the cone leaving enough to be able to use to hang it from a branch.

2. Empty the peanut butter and bird seed (in equal amounts)
into a clean bowl.

3. Mix the peanut butter and
bird seed together
as shown above.

4. Use the spatula to paste the mix into the gaps between the scales until it is evenly coated and all gaps are filled.

5. Roll the finished cone in birdseed to give an even covering. Then pop it in the fridge to set.

6. It really is that simple!
Remember that if you are making these with children they shouldn’t eat the peanut butter and seed mix.
