Bath Bomb Starter Kit | Citric Acid & Bicarbonate of Soda

Make bath time fun by creating your own handcrafted bath bombs with our bath bomb starter kit! Our kit contains all the supplies you need to get started with bath bomb making. You’ll receive a 2:1 ratio of bicarbonate of soda and citric acid – the 2 main ingredients of any bath bomb. Making bath bombs is an easy, rainy day project and is great fun for the kids. You can even make them as gifts to give to friends and family – the perfect present for birthdays or Christmas.

Moulds:

There are many household items you can use as a bath bomb mould. As long as it is flexible, it should work. Try using silicone ice cube trays, silicone cupcake cases, plastic biscuit cutters on a baking tray or yoghurt pots.

Decorations:

You can experiment with colours, flowers and petals, and use different shaped moulds to make a variety of bath bombs! These ingredients can also be used to make shower steamers and fizzers.

How to make a bath bomb:

1. Whisk the citric acid and bicarbonate of soda in a bowl with corn flour. You can also add Epsom salts for added luxury
2. In a small bowl, mix oil, essential oil (optional) and food colouring (optional)
3. Add the oil mixture to the dry ingredients a little at a time, whisking between each action.
4. If you’re adding flower petals or fruit peel to decorate, add to the bottom of your chosen mould
5. Add your mixture to your moulds tightly. Press down and smooth the top with a spoon
6. Leave to dry for 2-4 hours then carefully remove from your mould
7. Drop in the bath and watch it fizz!

Children should be supervised by an adult when using these kits. Number of bath bombs each kit makes is approximate. This depends on whether other ingredients are added and the size of mould you use.
