Our Nitrate of Chalk Tubs is a great choice to give your garden an early boost before the growing season begins. It’s perfect f you are looking to grow broad-leaved grasses such as Rye and Meadow grasses. Nitrate of Chalk neutralises acidic soil, raising the pH to 6.5 – 7, perfect for them to grow.Nitrate of Chalk is also perfect for growing brassicas such as kale and cabbage, beets or garlic. Using Nitrate of Chalk is the ideal way to increase the soil pH for leafy vegetables up to 7 – 7.5 and will allow them to grow at their best.As Nitrate of Chalk contains a small amount of lime. It is also a good way to reduce soil acidity, which will increase the overall soil fertility, especially for plants that are Calcicoles (lime-loving). Such plants include Cabbage, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts and most other Brassicas.Nitrate of Chalk Chemical Analysis:
Nitrate 27%: A crucial nutrient required by all plants for healthy root growth, and promotes the growth of large leafy green plants such as cabbages. We recommend an application rate of 50 grams per square meter as a general guide. We strongly advise testing your soil or compost pH before and after application to assess whether the conditions are correct chosen crops/plants.Caution: Do not mix with other fertilisers. Store in a dry frost-free place, away from foodstuffs, pets and children. Wash hands and exposed skin after use. Wear gloves when handling.
