Function & Design

  • Fish Scale Pattern – The offset planting pattern gives the plants a little headroom. This frees up the space above for the plants to grow into and provides better coverage.
  • Plates – The plates simply snap together, screw onto the wall, can be cut in half and have affixing points to attach an irrigation system if desired. Simple enough for anyone to use and ensure a perfect fit every time.
  • Cascade – Our patented design bifurcates the water as it cascades down the wall. The system allows the water to fan out, funnel in or be directed as desired. Being able to control the direction of water flow opens up a world of design possibilities making angles, curves and empty spaces to be easily accommodated.
  • Respiration – Air and water, sustenance for plants, and fundamental to the design. The base of the pod incorporates a reservoir of both air and water. The air oxygenates the soil while the  plants draw the water as they need.
  • Hook – The hooks offer a versatility unmatched by other systems. Designed to work not only on the plates supplied but also weldmesh chain wire (tennis court fencing) lattice, trellis…the list goes on.
  • Tripod Pot Stand – The pod is designed with a tripod base allowing to stand firmly on its own 3 feet. Handy while potting and in transit, but also allowing to stand proud, decorating your designer kitchen worktop, as you harvest your herbs, fruits or flowers.

Installation

  1. Click together plates to form rows. Ensure that the piece to hang the pot from is at the top. Make sure that the top row is level (use a spirit level is unsure).
  2. Mount the top row to the wall/surface. If attaching to masonry, use an 8mm masonry drill bit for the pilot hole. Insert nylon wall plug. Screw brackets to the wall.
  3. Attach the next row to the bottom of the top row. Make sure the plastic tabs click firmly into place. Plates can be cut in half to create different designs if desired.
  4. Use the remaining screws and plugs to fit the brackets to the wall at the sides, middle and bottom.
  5. Planting – Choose plants suitable for the microclimate of your wall. Some common species include Heuchera, Thyme, Sedum, Carex, Aduga etc. Pot up the plants using a good quality all purpose compost.
  6. Hang the pots on the brackets, starting at the top, working down the wall.
  7. For the best visual effect plants of the same species should be grouped together.
  8. Once fully planted give your new vertical garden a good watering using a hose or watering can. Larger installations will require a dripline irrigation system.
