BioPlant pellets perfect for vegan or vegetarian gardeners looking for a nutrient rich alternative to animal-based or animal produced fertilisers. Industrial anaerobic ‘digestors’ mimic the digestive process from cattle to create the pellets and produce a clean, sustainable energy source. Essentially the pellets themselves are a bi-product of green energy production. The main plants used are maize and sugar beet as well as products such as silage. All plant material is ethically sourced no more than 3 miles from the manufacture site in Cambridgeshire. This ensures a low carbon footprint, not only through the renewable raw materials used but in transport and processing. The ‘digestors’ produce heat and gases in the production process. This creates green electric power that is reintroduced back into the national grid.As part of the Green Energy Transition initiative the manufacture site is the largest Energy Crop producer in the UK. A slow release fertiliser with high levels of carbon. Our plant-based pellets increase soil activity and naturally promote plant growth. Specially formulated with a high Potassium value, BioPlant pellets encourage strong fruit and flower development in plants. The balanced levels of Nitrogen will benefit leafy vegetables and brassicas. 6% Phosphorus helps strong root systems develop. Useful levels of trace elements are also present including Calcium, Magnesium and Sulphur. All help improve overall plant health and vigour. A 12.5kg pack of BioPlant pellets contain as much nutrition as 175 litres of peat-based compost!Unlike some chemical fertilisers our plant pellets are safe for use around children, pets and livestock. They’re clean, no mess and easy to apply to the ground or plot.Applications:
- Top Dressing – A fantastic way to feed everything from houseplants to vineyards. Add a layer to the top of the soil for a slow release feed that will break down over time.
- Soil Enhancer – Either mix with fresh top soil for an enriched product, or mix through after harvesting crops. BioPlant pellets will hydrate and expand and as they break down. This creates gaps for increased aeration and drainage. They also retain moisture in poor, thin soils.
- Compost – The pellets can be reconstituted back into a recognizable compost by mixing with an equal volume of water. Ideal for all established plants, but too rich for seedlings. By mixing compost this way, end users can create the amount they need for the project without the waste from compost bags which will eventually go off.
Application Rates:
Apply to the soil/compost at 50g-150g per square meter, depending on crop needs. Distribute the product throughout the surface to be cultivated. It can also be placed in bands between the rows of the crop or irrigation points, according to the characteristics of the crop. Mix thoroughly into the soil for best results.The pellets can also be a used as a top dressing. Lightly water in to aid the natural break down of the pellets.Mineral Analysis (w/w):
