Product Description

Clover Irish Sphagnum Moss Peat Soil Conditioner/Improver

Clover Sphagnum Irish Moss Peat is the ideal medium for generating vitality in your soil. It helps stimulate root systems and provides humus to further activate soil bacteria.
In Sandy Soils:
Gives body and moisture to ‘light’ or sandy soils.
In Clay Soils:
Enhances drainage and aeration of the soil or ‘breathing’.

IMPORTANT:

Water thoroughly (in the bag). Allow time for saturation.Note: As this is a 100% natural product be aware that damp, saturated or dry weather conditions at bagging source will affect how much moisture is in the supplied product hence 200g of Clover moss peat when fully soaked will make approximately 1L of ready to use compost.

Directions for use:

Add water and stir, then let it soak for a few minutes. Add more water and stir as needed until completely soaked. It should be wet enough that when you squeeze a handful, a drop or two of water comes out. However, it should not be so wet that you can squeeze out a whole stream of water! Don’t skip this step, because dry peat will initially repel water. For best results you must wet it for it to work like you want in your soil.
  • MULCHING – Apply a layer of Clover Irish Moss Peat to beds and borders. A two inch layer is sufficient. This helps retain moisture and suppress weeds. It’s best to carry this out in Autumn or Spring.
  • SOWING – Fork in a one inch layer of Clover Irish Moss Peat into the top layer of soil.
  • PLANTING – For Roses, Trees and Shrubs, mix one part peat with one part soil together with a suitable Fertiliser and fill in around planting holes. Water thoroughly.
  • LAWNS – For new lawns, mix a two inch layer of Clover Irish Moss Peat with soil and work to a depth of six inches. Water well and commence seed planting. For established lawns, rake a quarter inch layer of peat into grass in early Spring or Autumn.
  • DAHLIAS – Store tubers and corms in dry peat – preferably indoors during Winter.
  • CARNIVOROUS PLANTS – Perfect for Venus Fly Traps and other carnivorous plants.
  • ERICACEOUS – Rhododendrons, Heathers, Azaleas and similar plants or shrubs thrive on peat-rich soils.
  • POTTING – Mix with a suitable soil and sand for domestic potting purposes and around the greenhouse.
pH 3.8 – 4.2
